At Rugged Research, we believe there’s nature everywhere—even right in your own schoolyard! We don’t believe that access should ever be an obstacle to environmental education. That’s why our programs bring outdoor learning from the dunes to the cities, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to discover the wonders of the wild.

In-School
Field Trips
Skip the complicated coordination and bus routes. Have a Rugged Research Instructor come to your class!
Our catalog of in-school field trip lessons are designed to spark curiosity and wonder towards the natural world.
Through fun games, activities and crafts, our instructor will lead your class through an immersive and FUN ecological experience!

Field trip sessions are 60 minutes and are capped at 35 students. We can accommodate several sessions back to back.

The mountains are calling!

Have Rugged Research guide your class on an interpretive hike in the mountains or forest.
Our day will be full of games, activities and nature show 'n tell! Not only will we learn all about our local ecosystem and the science behind it,
but we'll have a blast doing it!

afterschool
This weekly class takes place outside in the schoolyard where students can have close encounters with nature’s wonders!

Our lessons connect students with local ecosystems, encourage students to make connections to global environmental issues, and develop a mindful awareness of their everyday relationship with the natural world.

Each afterschool session includes fun games, activities, and crafts designed to engage every type of learner.
